Must be a hell of a feeling to wake an engine after a 20 year slumber.

Sugarwood it was and he is. After we got everything sorted, replace a fuel pump, a few fuel hoses and turned the key the engine coughed. It was clear the next turn of the key the engine was going to start. I had my little canon point and shoot camera on video ready for the next turn of the key. Check out the giddiness of the two little girls in this video knowing what's about to happen.

It was great.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Thank you for sharing and thanks for another great example of the power of community.

Count me in for the BBQ!

My condolences. I went through the same thing about two years ago. My Dad (who you met when we went to the winery) passed away in his sleep. It never gets easy but over time you only seem to remember the good memories and forget any friction that you had. I hope that it gets easier for you.
Jim’s cars are amazing. I am just finishing a very expensive restomod. In retrospect I should have just bought one of his fine machines.

Paul, Obscene, Thank you both for your condolences.

Paul, I have a lot of great memories with my mother. The hard part is I had breakfast with her that morning and all was fine. I am an only child, she a single mother. I have seen or spoken to my mom essential every day of my life for 54 years. It's like someone lopped off my left arm with out warning.

Paul, my condolences to you as well. I the car you are working on the same car you were working on when we met at the winery?

That must be very tough. My Mom is now in a home with dementia. I can't talk to her. I don't know which is worse.

No. I sold that car and started a new 1970 project in Tangerine. It is posted here on Pelican.

It is but, fortunately I didn't go through what you are going through. I think what you are going through is worse.

I have seen your tangerine build. I love that color.

I had a nice conversation with Tony (Boyt911sc) the other day. We discussed a get together at NJMSP in Millville in a few weeks when the weather gets a bit nicer. Any others interested?

I am contemplating putting this back in the car until the other engine is ready.

Yeah I’d be interested too. Keep me posted, and if there is anything I can do to help let me know.

I actually started my 930 for the first time since August a couple days ago. So hopefully I’m all set for a long and low maintenance season of driving.

I'd have to take the car out of mothballs but I'd be interested in the meet up.

I take back everything I said about Jim. He's a bad influence. You know like the cool kid in school that your parents tell you to stay away from. No good can come of hangin out with a guy like that. But of course you don't listen and he says here take a look and next thing you know you're hooked and have a full fledged addiction.

I went from a quick engine bay clean up and repair of some shutz and flaking paint to a complete strip to bare metal.

You have all been warned. Steer clear lest you to fall prey to his evil ways.

He got me, too. Now I'm getting hardware plated and instead of refreshing my suspension with stock stuff, am in full Rebel RSR mode. Gone are the rattle cans in favor of epoxy primer and proper urethane. I'd better be careful I don't get a German Short Haired Pointer next. John/CT
