No difference though between spacer and wheel with different offset, when it comes to some of the consequences he's noting. In both cases you push the lip further out and get equal results.

porsche ruined my 930 by cheapening out and used giant spacers rather than a having bespoke wheels for the wide bodies? :-)

That is not my understanding. You are most likely negatively affecting the scrub radius with a spacer as compared to using the correct offset wheel.

No. Only if you push the wheel out more. Scrub radius is determined at the center of the tire tread.

You MUST believe the internet man. Spacers can RUIN YOUR CAR. (Besides, what do Porsche engineers know?)
