RS Door Panels w/Carpet Lower?

Has anyone ever seen this done? I'm curious how it looks. I might be picking up an SC project in the near future and will likely do an RS carpet kit, I'm curious how the carpeted quarter panel would tie in with an RS door panel covered in matching low pile lightweight carpet, keeping the vinyl/leather upper trim panel on both the door and quarter panel. I don't like the look when the quarter panel covering doesn't tie with the door panel, it just makes the interior look mismatched. Of course this idea might also look like crap, hence trying to find a picture.

Nobody? I’ve seen the same scheme with tartan fabrics but that’s getting a little cliche.

I ****ing HATE rs door panels unless it's an all out race car. The door pockets are super handy and unless you're actually competing I think they ruin the roadability of the car.

I personally like the minimalist style of the RS panels but hate the lack of an arm rest. If I went this route I would incorporate a 356 arm rest or similar. I'm not a big fan of the stock door panels, I think the design is busy, really doesn't flow with the rest of the interior, and the pocket design leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm thinking it could look pretty good.
Lower half of the panel in carpet, might take the racer look and tone it down a bit.

Something like this, but instead of the fancy quilted fabric, covered in carpet so it ties with the quarter panel when the door is shut. I also like the 356 arm rest, and still retain the upper door trim.

well, I like it

I guess the issue is where to draw the line or curve of separation

maybe look at some old VW Bus door panel designs for inspiration?

think I've seen one that looked pretty nice in the aftermarket - from Sewfine

These guys have a few ideas...

What do you think of my take on early door panels?

I’ve looked at the first link several times, I like how he added the arm rest. That style works well to tie the dash with the rear quarter trim. With RS carpet it wouldn’t work as well I think.
