Question SSI - Backdating -> Yet another question

When looking for backdating kits I have found that there is one for 78-83 SC cars and one for 84-89 Carrera cars. Basically what I want to know is: Why?

What is the difference?

Are the flanges not the same for SC and Carreras? Is the bolt hole distance (up to the cylinders) different on SC/Carrera? Or is it something else that makes it necessary to have one kit for SC and one for Carrera?

I just found out myself

Backdating heat exchangers for

SC - has 36mm tubes.

Carrera- has 38mm tubes plus they have thicker flanges and a small extension (collar?) that goes into the cylinder.

Mikkel, there is only one tube size
>38mm 1 1/2"OD Primary
>34.9mm 1 3/8" ID primary

>51mmOD 2" collector
>42mmID 1 7/8" collector

Weight 24lbs

There are two different flange thicknesss, Carrera wants thick
O2 is an option, but if it's missing it can be easily welded on.
