Viper Green - Code 225 paint formula

Hey guys - not sure if this would be helpful to anyone but I had some paint mixed for a couple touch ups on my 73 VG 911. I asked the paint guy if he could provide the formula for the color and he obliged. Hopefully it will help someone..
BTW - this is the solvent based formula

Stunning car. Is there a build thread for it?

No, there's not unfortunately. 3 plus year build for Jim Cullen (Bay Area racer and car collector) Weighs ~1900lbs with a 97 Varioram motor. It absolutely rips.

Was that the same paint it was painted with or only for the touch-ups?

HI
I love your car. I am planning on using this color on my build. Any chance you could post a couple other pics from different angles?
Thanks,
Tim

Just for touch-up. It was Glasurit originally I believe. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to get paint mixed to the 225 code.

Hey Tim - the thing I've discovered with VG, individual cars are all a bit different. And as below, lighting plays a big part. Paint manufacturers, water or solvent based and maybe even the conditions of the paint booth can effect the shade. Don't have many pictures of the car outside but here are a few pics of parts that were painted at the same time as the car. He painted a 964 lid that was never used perhaps that will help you.

Love to know how you got that wide body car below 2000 lbs in street trim. My stripped SC race car was 2500 lbs! Did you actually see it weighed?

No, but have friends that were there when it was weighed. I plan on getting it weighed again regardless. This is a real 73 chassis but with a carbon roof, flares fenders and doors. Poly windows. It was a very costly build to put it lightly. If you do a search on "Jim Cullen racer" you'll see his race cars. There all open checkbooks. 2500 is heavy! You running a full cage and glass?

On another note, I see you live in Southern Spain? Love to pick your brain sometime on the car scene there. I have family in Ibiza and I will likely end up there someday.

PCA D Stock race car, has to be all metal and glass, full cage and then some. I can see how a CF body on an early car would drop a lot of weight! That would be a lot of fun for DE's, no class to race it in except possibly GT, and it would be up against 400 HP open checkbook competition..

Yea, it would be great for DE but really, it's just a gorgeous hotrod. It's really amazing how dramatically things change when the weight drops below 2k. The car just walks away from my factory widebody with a $70k 3.8L in it. It's not even close. It's changed my perspective, that's for sure.

I love the car,ABSOLUTELY stunning!
The Viper Green paint formula is specifically for that paint line and will be different for every paint brand/line.Interesting that that is solvent as I thought California was all water but solvent must not be outlawed but just limited to usage conditions and circumstances.
You say it was painted with Glasurit so was it done with Gasurit Water or solvent if Basecoat/Clear or 22 line single stage?
And why didn’t you get the same for your touch up paint?

I didn't build it so no spare paint and it was done in waterbase though California is apparently allowing new less toxic solvent based paints soon. The solvent based is allowed for touch-up now. Thank you for the kind comments.
