He's alive on Bring A Trailer.
Pass the word to anyone who might be interested.
Wish me luck.

Car looks fantastic as always and the car sounds a lot like mine down to the whining of the gears. Watched your updates over the years and someone lucky is going to get a great car. Have you sourced your next car/project?

Thanks for the comments.

Haven't sourced one yet, but have seen a couple potential cars.
The big question is: do I want a big project with a repaint, etc or one that's 90% there already.
I'm pretty sure it will be another longhood....have a soft spot for them I guess.
Rothsport has a barn find (kind of) 69 911E that looks interesting, but it will be mostly complete and expensive.
I know of another 73 911E up in Canada that's interesting. Wouldn't have to do to much to this car either.

Not sure it that's the way I want to go or not?
It was fun doing my 914-6 conversion project from start to stop.
It needed a lot of work, so you really get to know a car when you restore/modify them from stem to stern. ;)

Best of luck to you with the auction. Had 2 very good experiences with BaT with buying my first and only Porsche in 2019 and selling a non-Porsche sports car in Dec 2020 (to pay for said P car.) Kermie is one of my favorites around here. Just beautiful.

Less than 24 hours to go....tick tock tick tock.
Where's my Valium? Ha
Auction ends at 12:30pm Pacific time (Wed, Sept 1).

I remember burning a perfect circle on the back of my calf when I backed into one of those exhaust outlets of that car at a PCA auto cross when you lived there….

Sorry man....I still remember that too.
Can't remember if that was when the tips were too long or not?
That was some years ago.
Blast from the past as they say.

Forgot to say Houston, but anyway good luck with your sale.

Holy cow, your car is doing well on BAT! I'm sure you're getting excited....good luck (I don't think you'll need it).

mb911 09-01-2021 11:06 AM

Wow looks like great money for the car. Glad to see that.

TxGerman 09-01-2021 11:37 AM

Congrats on the sale! That was an impressive auction.

SalazarS2K 09-01-2021 11:41 AM

Sold sold sold! I always wondered how a seller reacts when watching an auction. This one had to be exciting.

I was freaking out!
There were fast and furious times and lulls in the action all the way to the very end.
Yes, it's very different when it's your car.
Watched a bunch of these on BaT, but it was a totally different feeling being the seller.

Having a few cocktails tonight. :)

Congrats on selling your Kermie! I am 73Carrera on BaT, telling you to pull the listing! We will all miss your updates on Kermie.

skinnerd 09-01-2021 08:35 PM

Thx Rodney. I'll miss giving updates, but another fun project early 911 will eventually fall in place. Enjoy watching all your updates too...keep em coming.

Jonny042 09-02-2021 02:38 PM

Congrats on the sale! I recently went through BaT to sell my 87 and it's pretty nerve wracking!!!

skinnerd 09-02-2021 03:55 PM

Nerve racking is an understatement.
I'm still buzzing from all the action and excitement of yesterday.

Lots of memories with that car.
The wife, twins and I were saying our "byes" today as the auto transport company comes tonight to pick it up.
