86 911 seatbelt mounts

Hey there, can anyone tell me if 86 911 seatbelt receivers mount to the seat like as in an 87 944 or do they still mount to the tunnel like as in an SC 911? Or in other words are 87 944 seats the same or compatible with an 86 Carrera? Thanks, Andy.

The receivers after 85 mount on the seat
That’s the reason for the much more substantial floor mounts for the seats.

Hmmm... Flat6pac? There must be some change over point in there. This is contradictory to what Walt is saying at least by year. I had the person send me a pic and his are tunnel mount. I am selling a set of seats and wanted to be sure I sent the right ones. There must be a switch in seatbelt style somewhere in the mid to late eighties? I have several sets of ac 911 and early and late 944 seats. Some with belt mounts and some without.

Might depend on the seats then? I have an 85 and they were seat mounted. It had full electric seats.

I had to make my own tunnel mounts. If you decide to weld mounts to the tunnel remember the fuel lines run nearby.

The belt receiver mounted on the seat on my 87. It looks like the bolt hole is still on the tunnel (87 targa floor) -
