3.2 airbox questions
The factory airbox has a hole on the backside (facing the backseats), that seems to be open on the wrong side of the air filter. Should I block it off? It looks like maybe it is a hole for a vacuum line?
Also, there are two part numbers for what appears to be the same box: 93011034300 and 93011034301. Anybody know the difference? I'm thinking about getting a new one and don't want to go wrong. Thanks! |

Mine has a hose connected to it leading into the right wheel well area. Possibly for fuel evap.

How is the hose attached to airbox? Via a grommet?

No photos handy but it’s connected with what I’d call a “wire clamp”. It’s a circular piece of stiff wire with ends that you can squeeze with a pliers to loosen it.

The air box has a nipple on it that the tubing pushes over and held with said “wire” clamp. I call them Jesus clamps because when they snap, that’s usually my verbal reaction.

I did not see a nipple on the airbox of my '86 3.2, just a hole at rear side near the bottom in the removable shell of the airbox. Is that the area you are referring to?

3.2 airbox questions
The nipple I was referring to is near the red arrow on the image on the engine side of the filter. That has the hose connected with the Jesus clamp.
The hole with the green arrow is likely to drain any moisture that accumulated and is pre filter so that should not be blocked. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by DerkPerk; 04-16-2019 at 03:40 AM.. |

The 88-89 Clubsport had a bung over the nipple - there is a specific part number for this CS part.
Assuming some cars were not optioned with Charcoal canisters. Strangely, a spare lid I had fitted before I went ITBs didn’t have the nipple at all - the moulding had not been disturbed so assuming a factory item.
