Removing Safety/Bypass Relief Plugs
Does anybody have any good advice or suggestions on the removal of the bypass/safety relief piston plugs
on a 2.2L engine - PET Part# 999-064-101-02. They're are on pretty damn tight. It looks as though a special tool may be required. I would like to know of a method or something which wouldn't mess up the original plug & I don't know of any flat bladed tool to do the proper job. Any recommendations? Thanks & Cheers JB

This is the only "tool" that I'm familiar with
https://www.stomskiracing.com/products/oil-pressure-relief-plug-extractor However someone on this forum claimed they used a file that they screwed in to the piston to get a grip on it so it could be pulled out |
