I made my first mod tonight. Yay!

After three years of ownership and learning to actually maintain a car, I installed a B&B Triflow 1-in-1-out muffler. I bought it from my friend Carston, and he helped install it. Well, okay, he did almost everything.

This is the first actual modification/performance enhancement I've done in 3 1/2 years of ownership. Wow. 3rd gear is just plain sick on the highway now, so I suspect the car will be faster at the track.

Yay!

More maintenance. I need new rear tires, I think, and an alignment, for sure. And I still need to fix those stupid oil lines that Firestone crushed last year. I hope they remember me enough to pay for it.

Other than that, I have a brand-spanking new set of harnesses that I need to send back to Racer's Wholesale because the shoulder straps are too short. Those will go in along with a harness bar, and hopefully I'll be ready just in time for Mid-Ohio on Easter Weekend.

Any thoughts on a new steering wheel? I have to say going to the 930s wheel was nothing less than "inspirational".

Well, I was talking about mechanical mods really. I already have a Momo Competition, which was a worthwhile upgrade.

In terms of power upgrades, though, the exhaust is a great place to start. The car already had a chip in it when I bought it, so the next logical place to go will be either major engine mods (probably not), or suspension in the form of torsion and sway bars. We'll see. I never intended my Targa to be a track car.

I'm sure the Momo is a great investment.
Suspension-wise I'll be going to Turbo tie rods on my '85. Not sure which shocks I'll be putting in though....that's still up for debate.
