How many miles per year?
looking at the aircooled folks, who drives their car more than 10K miles per year?
I think that would be higher than most for these older cars. And with values where they are, it probably is becoming less and less frequent for people to use them so regularly. I'm getting about 6k the last couple of years and I try not to drive it if rain is in the forecast. Knock on wood, things have been pretty reliable since I went EFI and rebuilt the motor. I had a 5th gear dog teeth issue but the 915 probably has around 290k on it.

I have a handful of cars & bikes so none get used everyday. 4-6k miles per year on the air-cooled 911 and about the same on Cayman. I'm more apt to take the Cayman for short/fast trips and the 911 for longer road trips or to destination events like Monterey car week.

Meh, value shmalue. I bought my car to drive and wrench on it. We have winters here, so I only drive the car probably 5-6 months of the year. I put about 4000-6000 miles per season on it. I wish I could put more on and would do so with year around good weather.

10k a year would be close to a daily driver for me.
I only drive mine about 8 months of the year and average two days a week and two weekend trips. I hit right at 3,000 every year and just broke 90,000 miles on Sunday. It will be another 3 years to hit 100k. I think RawkneesTurbo may put 10k a year on his.

I have done 150,000 miles in 20 years. Have several other cars and climate is good enough to drive year round.

My SC is now up to about 12k a year as my daily. I'm coming up on 30k that I have put on it. It regularly goes through the rain since it's Florida, and that's just a fact of life. It's also been through light snow (<3 inches) a few times.

15-20 k per year, I want to thank all the guys who dutifully polish and not drive my next car. Your wife and kids will love my cash and I will drive the snot of your ex-car. Both my 911s came from families of dead owners and were low mile examples.

i put about 10-12k on my green 911. i built it specifically to drive everyday. i try to drive it everywhere, and want to put 100k on it myself. life goals, right? my 914-6 only sees maybe 3k a year. but it's not built for comfort, so that's all spirited driving in the hills and soon to be track time...

My SC is the oldest car with least miles 119k. It is the last year where my family of 5 will be able to enjoy it together. My two girls used to be able to share a seat. Anyway, I drive it through rain and my hood is covered in rock chips. I drive the car 8k per year.

I bought my '82 SC in 2002 with 157,000 miles. It now has 244,000, so 5000 miles/year. Now splits time with newer 911 with actual air conditioning.

My Rat Rod has over 2k miles since DRT in February. Say 3 months, and I will prob drive it more now that the A/C is chillin in it, so it will hit 10k this year maybe.
IMHO if you car has under 50k total miles on it, and a clean title then worry about driving it a lot maybe. My Anniversary Car has 107k on it, so more miles wont hurt its value, only its condition would if I let it get deteriorated. My Rat Rod, well it was being sold for scrap and did not run when I bought it, has the wrong motor and tranny in it, so its value is irrelevant to miles.

I put about 5K miles on my 85. During the summer, I try to drive it every day I can, between bouts of when I take it apart to do modifications as it slowly morphs into a hot rod. It has just over 110K on it now, and it has decent paint and a great engine. I plan to take it on some long road trips as I did with previous aircooled cars, and hope to see it turn over 200K.

Same. Let me ask you a question, are you depressed in the midwest? After driving canyons in Malibu and Mulholland Drive, and the Rockies / highway 14 near Ft Collins, I kind of hate my life in the midwest. I own a house, I have a nice job, but jesus christ our roads are garbage compared to other parts of the country. It's not just the roads conditions, but they aren't nearly as scenic. If I lived out in Cali or Colorado, I would drive my 911 all weekend, just for fun.

Ah, I miss Topanga and Malibu canyons, PCH and Mulholland Drive with a passion. I realize now why Florida has so many race tracks.
I miss the experience so much that I'm considering driving the car out west and garaging it a buddies home in Santa Monica. I'm out there for business regularly.

Yes, I feel this. One of the two things I don't like about Chicago is that if I want to drive somewhere passably interesting, it takes two hours to get there. Wisconsin is nice, but it's not the Rockies or California.
I put about 5k miles on my SC in 2016 and 2017, and about 4k last year. I own five cars, four of which get driven, and probably put about 10-11k per year total on them all. Quote:
