Fabspeed early airbox intake

Has anyone tried one of these? Would this be useable in rainy weather? I'm probably getting a similar effect by running only the short elbow, no tube, on my '73. Looks interesting but $175 is a lot for a carbon fiber donut.

That looks kinda cool, and may let out more of the nice MFI intake sound, but the price and the claim of 500% more airflow is a ridiculous! Heck it would be easy enough to make one of these yourself....hmmm new project?

Timely subject. I cut the snout off an old snorkel just last night. Going to paint it this morning and put it on. The Fabspeed unit looks great, but $175 ... ???

I'm a sucker, I'll admit it. I bought one, thought it might clean up the engine compartment. Here it is installed:

I can say this much:

1. It fits, easy to install.
2. Does it help h.p.? Don't know, have not driven it enough.
3. How does it sound? My sport muffler is too loud to notice
much difference.
4. Price? Too damn much but I like the way it looks.

I bought one too. I can't say that I noticed any more power (wasn't really expecting that since air restriction at the filter is not really a problem) but it does change the sound. I've got a little more growl out of the 2.4. The engine compartment is also much cleaner.

Be careful that you get the intake snug to the airbox. If not, the MFI cross shaft will catch on the lip. Don’t ask how I know this!!!

Bumping a suuuuuper old thread. Wondering if anybody else has tried this.
I have a aluminum velocity stack but the mounting tabs have torn off

I could get it welded or try this part.
Is it really c/f or just printed plastic to look like c/f?
