Help identifying 75 911
Hey all, been a while since I posted over here.
Have a 75 911 that we recently acquired and am trying to determine if it's an actual silver anniversary car. It was converted to slantnose (steel conversion but nicely done) and repainted red. Vin is 5200142, original paint code is silver metallic, trying to determine if this chassis is in fact one of the 1-500 anniversary cars. Porsche hasn't been able to give us a definitive answer.... Thanks Any input appreciated. |

Silver Metallic is definitely correct. I don't know how to tell from the VIN. I don't know of any silver anniversary lists with VIN numbers. They did have a plaque on the glove box. Most of the time people would leave them, because they were numbered.
A silver anniversary didn't seem to pull any additional money unless it was cherry. What's the interior like? ![]()

The cars been completely changed, has a 3.2 in it, turbo flares, etc..... in the late 80s/ early 90s it was a demo car for a car audio distributor.
We're just trying to figure out what it started life as... not necessarily for $$$ It's really nice though..... I'll take some pics tomorrow |

Did you pay Porsche for an options list? We used to call it a COA. Now they call it something else.
Regardless, it’s not an anniversary car anymore. They are only worth anything original. Just enjoy it. I’ve got a 74 with a 3.2. Was a black slantnose when we found it. It’s impact bumper and original gulf blue. It’s not worth much but I’m building what I want with it.

COA doesn’t list silver anniversary- at least not on the one I saw that was for a silver anniversary. It had the tires listed though:-/
I think the PCA has access to the kardex and can pull up specific info like that.

Good info. Yes the plaque is missing, have the coa but doesn't state if it's an anniversary car....
Will check with the pca. Thanks! |

And just to note, this is not my personal car, it's our shops and we are getting ready to sell.

So it probably doesn't have the original seats since everything else has been changed...right? Didn't the silver anniversary cars have a gray plaid/or some kind of different design for the seat inserts?

The Silver Anniversary package is M426. It consists of the following options:
M102 2 stage heated rear window M288 headlamp washers M422 Blaupunkt Bamberg M461 power antenna M458 Fuchs Silver Metallic 6x15 M404 18mm rear sway M496 black trim M565 380mm sport steering wheel M481 5spd 915 I imagine a ton of those things got ripped out in the conversion. But there's some others that may still be present and might suggest it started as an Anniversary. I do find it odd that it doesn't show on a COA, but what about these other options?
