Green Distributor Wire - 911 SC

This evening I was working on my SC engine (out of the car) to swap out the left-hand air socket, backdating for the TBitz installation. The green wire to the side of the distributor interfered with that. So I debated whether to pull the distributor, or cut the wire and splice it back with a plug. So I cut the wire.

Only when getting ready to splice it did I discover that this wire is either shielded or a coax. So my question is is the outer shield just that, a radio shield, or is it part of the distributor circuit. If the latter, what are my options for fixing the screw-up?

Pelican lists it, looks like 930-602-907-01.
Available as Genuine Porsche, OEM and URO.

You can just splice it together. Take the coax part and twist, solder to coax. Same on the inside wire. Works fine.

So the green wire plugs in to the engine harness and isn’t continuous to the plug? I didn’t see that! Need to look into that further.

It depends on the model and the year. My '82 ROW is straight to the CDI - no connector.

Some had the connector, some didn’t.
Easier to replace the usually overheated end at the dizzy if it does, or you add one.

My car does not have the plug either. So I guess I will be splicing my screw-up!

Using a new short wire and the parts kit from Dennis/Timmy you can add that proper male/female plus for future disconnect/reconnects. John
