1973.5 Porsche 911T
I have installed a MSD 6AL, msd tach adapter and a MSD blaster coil. The tach stop working, aside from sending out my tach to Palo Speedo or North Hollywood Speedo, Is there other ways of making it work? I need expert advise from someone who has installed this product before and made it work by using this MSD products. I have wired this a few different ways with no luck. Let me know Thank You for your replys |

If the tach needle doesnt move at all, check the wiring. If the needle moves erratically, you probably need a tach adapter. Early tachs work on a different signal than later tachs.

When I first installed it the tach needle worked erractically, then it stop and then it would occasionally work between 1000 - 2000 rpm only.
Well now it completely stop working. I do have a tach adapter hooked up to it already. Please feel free to give any advise you know off. |

Sorry, what you describe is similar to what happened with my 914/6. I tried everything. Finally ended up sending it off to NorthHollywood speedo. $130 later it works perfectly. You could also accomplish this by finding and using a later model tach. Not sure which year is where the internal change occured.

Thank You
I think I am leaning towards sending out my tach to North Hollywood as well. Are they a good company to deal with. Are they true to there word of one week turn around. Is the tach very simple to remove. Thanks |

The tach was from an original 1970 Factory 6. Now it works without the tach adapter.
