Bilstein jack query

Hi
I have a 1976 930. I need am looking for the correct type of jack for the car.
I have come across 2 types for sale. Any idea the reason for the different designs of the arms? Both are green dot Bilstein jacks.

Your jack should be the first.
The second if I remember well is for previous models... (1972/1976 targas)

It has been redesigned to avoid hitting the paintwork with the cap of the jack.

The first one pictured is technically for a later car 87-89?? It has the larger base. Yours should look like that but with a smaller base.

If you just want a period correct jack for collection purposes , they are nice ... but i wouldn't risk using one of those on my car , the 944 aluminum jacks are a lot safer and weigh less !

Just sayin ...

There was a re-design of that particular jack because not enough people were being killed/maimed by the original.

Yep. What you should really carry around is an emergency 2 post lift.
