So I took my 911 out for a 4th of July drive and as I was leaving from my storage facility I noticed that I was as close to empty as I have ever been and the low fuel light went on. I promptly went for gas and proceeded to take a nice 10 mile drive to my house.
Turned off the car, went inside, cleaned up from the bbq then back out for the real drive. Turned on the car and it sputtered a bit which it has never done. Drove about 7 milers and then the car started sputtering again and died. Tried restarting and the car will start right up but then it just dies. If I start the car and immediately give it gas I can keep it running but clearly there is something wrong and as soon as I let my foot off the gas the car dies. I'm hoping it's something simple, any ideas? |

It’s possible, if your tank was very low, you may have sucked some crap from the bottom of the tank. You could start by changing out your fuel filter. Easy to do and worthwhile if you haven’t done it in a while.

I just changed the fuel filter last year but with this new issue I will certainly change it again.
So I attempted to start the car a few times and finally it stayed running. After about 30 seconds of rough idle it started to run and idle well. I think I'm going to take it for another ride but I do not want to get stuck. wondering if I should use a fuel system cleaner, thoughts? |

Sound like a classic DME relay issue. Swap the relay, and see what that does for you.
