clutch throw out fork issues

'83 911 sc. Just installed a rebuilt clutch with new fork and bushings. adjusted everything. Cable pull measurements all good. Started engine. Depressed clutch pedal 3/4 way scrapping noise. Pulled engine out, as per pictures pressure plate rubbing new fork. Any idea? Did I install something wrong. Was so careful making sure fork was engaged it throw-out bearing.

are you sure the clutch disc is in the correct way? also the TO bearing and shims has to be correct..
on the outside with the To bearing goes 1st the spacer shim then the sunshine shim ,facing away from bearing. Then you put the bearing into the press plate and put on the ring and after the clip...

I had a local shop, South Bend Clutch, rebuild and resurface the flywheel.
They have been around for decades, and very reliable.
I may take it off and take it back over there if plp think that could be the issue.

I might guess that the disc is too thick. Notice what looks like excessive convex angle of the pressure plate diaphram spring. In other words, it sticks out too far, along with the t/O bearing. When the disc wears out and gets thinner, it flattens out more. Just a guess. 8.1mm is the relaxed thickness of a stock one when new.

Thanks, I will take assemble back to SBC tomorrow for review.
I also noticed the new fork is .035 thicker than the old one, I set it up on some vblocks. Don't know how close everything in the bell housing is.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559867332.jpg
