'86 front swaybar in a '77?

Will the 22mm swaybar from an '86 work in a '77? I've searched and haven't found anything clearly saying yes or no.

I'd recommend looking for the 86-89 bars.They will interchange with the use of the later bushings. The biggest challenge will be the rear. 74-77 cars used a 'cup-and-ball' design to attach the drop link to the trailing arm, where the 78 and later cars have a bolt on drop link. We carry a sway bar and drop link kit:

Maybe the bushings are different, bar styles are the same.

Yeah, change bushings and muscle it into place with plenty of silicone paste or spray.

I did this with my '77. Front will fit (with appropriate bushing, of course).

The rear requires later (78+) bracket & clamp with wider bolt spacing - so this means welding in the later style bracket (I went with Wevo).

Update: I forgot to mention that the rear drop-links also changed for 78+ to be bolted directly to the trailing-arm rather than having a ball & socket design. I moved to the later style trailing arms to allow me to use the OEM drop links, however there are manufacturers that use a drop link that bolts to the trailing arm at the spring plate. This allows the drop-link to be used regardless of the trailing arm type you have.
