Porsche ditched carbs for CIS when the fuel injection system was developed by Bosch.

Prior to that, MFI was the preferred fuel delivery except for the bargain basement T. Why would Porsche do that when carbs are that good ?

There ya go applying logic to an illogical situation. I had CIS in my middie, after proper setup, it ran like a new car. You will need fuel pressure gauge set, a CO meter, and a basic understanding of the system. If you are chasing horsepower, this is not the system, if you just want a clean running, tractable car that will scoot up a twisty road, or get groceries, a well sorted CIS system will do the trick. Carburetors are solid 1930s tech.

Exactly. Also, FWIW, CIS is Mechanical Fuel Injection.
