One carb running rich after rebuild
Howdy folks. I have a problem.
I rebuilt a set of 3 barrel carbs and now one is running rich (judging by the sooty plugs) I was very careful with the floats and all other parts. I double checked everything and it all looks to be correct. Any ideas? |

Check airflow balance at first, then turn fuel screw until you reach the lean best conditiin. If you need more info, please give us more infos. Carb type, engine specs, jetting and so on. |

I did tune it. For some reason I had rich conditions on one carb, no matter what I did. It was very strange. I took it apart and put it back together in exactly the same way I did when I rebuilt it the first time and it now runs lean. No jetting changes. I was initially rebuilding due to the fact that I kept clogging idle jets.
I'll pull them apart tomorrow and clean them thoroughly again. I must have missed something. |
