Battery(ies) died--how to rewire to just use one?
I've searched the archives and it seems that most people who are using one battery in an early car have it on the driver's side. I'd really rather have the one battery on the passenger side for weight distribution.
Looking at the wiring, it seems that I need a three way splice to connect the cable that goes under the gas tank to both the cable to the fuse box and to the cable that goes back to the starter. Who's done this? What's the best way to splice (I'm sure it not an actual splice--but you know what I mean) the wires together? Thanks! -Jon |
One more thing--After I got a jump, I drove about 20 miles on the alternator. Does that cause any long term damage?

Good read. So the idea seems to be to crimp/solder ends on all the cables and screw them down together on a threaded stud (or 928 power junction).
Given that the single battery is still up front and not in the smuggler's box, it seems to me the best place for that stud is over near the fusebox. |
Bingo! Perhaps inside the unused battery box?

What Paul said. Mount it next to those new relays you will be adding in the headlight circuit ;)
