Fuchs valve stem holders
Hi,
Anyone know where to locate the stem holder like on the 7x16 Fuchs? I bought my Fuchs with a polished lip and in the process they probably took them off. Got a bit 'suprised' by the rear drivers side going flat in a right hand turn during a DE at Tremblant ... Aftermath showed that the valve stem itself was cut where it meets the rim. Probably from the centrifugal forces applied to the valve stem, it was bending at speed. I didn't spin but the rear got pretty loose! Again, this was i high pucker moment as i'm still in the green group and this was my first session without an instructor. So i'll be changing the other tire valves with short ones, and I want to install the 'holders' that keep the valves from bending. Anyone know where to source these? I have to all steel stems. These are "club-racing" approved and in my opinion look better than the braces. Also makes the wheels easier to clean. Just ordered 8 from tire rack, but you may be able to find them at a local tire shop.

They only sell them in 4 packs $15.99 for the pack. Plus shipping and if you an Illinois resident tack on state sale tax so we are probably looking at $20.00 plus for four stem holders.

Don't forget to get metal caps w/ a seal w/ either rubber or metal stems.. The schrader/plastic combo has also been known to leak. Of course you could always switch to Prest w/ its positive seal.

Thanks guys. PP holds them. I'm trying to decide between small rubber valves & supports VS metal valves. Probably easier to clean the rim with the metal ones.
I'll get some metal caps with seals also. I happened to me once and i don't want it to happen again. Marc-André
