naca ducts?
Anyone know where I can find naca ducts that are made out of metal? All I can seem to find are fiberglass or carbon????

I checked their site, all of their products are plastic, no metal. I searched for an hour and never came up with anything....

Thanks but those are aluminum and I need steel. I need to weld them into existing steel. I just called them and the don't carry them in steel.

There are a number DIY sites to make your own if steel is not available or talk to a metalworking shop about making some one offs..

It you are up for welding one into a car then you easily have the skills to make your own ducts. They are easy to form out of flat sheet and they just need to be welded with the sides 90° to the bottom. If I was making one I would make a wooden form on a bandsaw and then just clamp the side metal to the form and trim it to the contour. Then tack the bottom to it and trim to size. A finish bead and you are done and you just need to weld it to the car.
If it was me I would just is 3M VHB tape and bond a preformed duct to the underside of the skin. VHB is structural so it will never come off and it is as permanent as welding.

Where are you looking to place these on the car ? Is it a racing application ?

If you make your own (or probably even buy one) the profile is likely not going to be 'correct'. They were engineered for high-speed airplanes as a way to get air without disturbing the boundary layer much and with as little drag as possible. The shape would vary based on Reynold's number I would venture.
