MoMo Signature steering wheels Overview

Hi guys!

I've been collecting steering wheels for a while now and really fell in love with the Signature series MoMo wheels. I know I'm not the only one here but the information about these wheels is widely spread. I'll try to mention every different model and version but I'm sure there are some MoMo guru's around here who'll have more information and models. Please correct me if information is wrong or inclomplete so we combine our knowledge and create a clear and complete Signature Catalog

First of all, production dates:

before '70: Stacked Mo Mo logo



'70 - '72: No logo, only "made in Italy"




'73 - '75: Model number

'76 - up: Date stamp

Early horn buttons had the chrome trim and no MoMo logo on the backside.


Gianpiero Moretti, Italian racing driver and the founder of the MOMO company in the 1960's.

Jackie Stewart, British former Formula One racing driver from Scotland. Nicknamed the "Flying Scot", he competed in Formula One between 1965 and 1973.

Jacky Ickx, Belgian former racing driver, won the 24 Hours of Le Mans six times, achieved eight wins and 25 podium finishes in Formula One, won the Can-Am Championship in 1979 and is a former winner of the Dakar Rally.

Clay Regazzoni, Swiss racing car driver. He competed in Formula One races from 1970 to 1980, winning five Grands Prix.

Niki Lauda, Austrian former Formula One driver who was three times F1 World Champion, winning in 1975, 1977 and 1984.

Mario Andretti, Italian American world champion racing driver. He is one of only two drivers to win races in Formula One, IndyCar, World Sportscar Championship and NASCAR. He also won races in midget cars, and sprint cars.

Ronnie Peterson, Swedish racing driver. Known by the nickname 'SuperSwede', he was a two-time runner-up in the FIA Formula One World Drivers' Championship.

George Follmer, American race car driver, and one of the most successful road racers of the 1970s.

Roland Asch, German race car driver from Ammerbuch, near Stuttgart. Asch was a distinctive figure on the German motor racing scene in the 1990s for his prominent Swabian dialect and animated facial expressions while driving.

Gilles Villeneuve, Canadian racing driver. Villeneuve spent six years in Grand Prix racing with Ferrari, winning six races and widespread acclaim for his performances.

Dieter Quester, Starting with motorboats in the 1950s, is an active touring car racing driver from Austria. Dieter has participated in 53 24-Hour Races. He competed in a single Formula One race in which he finished ninth.

I found a new horn button today, no better pictures yet but it's a Dieter Quester helmet.

I'll add it to the list as soon as I got more info and pictures!

Thank you for sharing! I was previously unaware of these. I have a small Momo collection now; it'd be a dream to find the Niki Lauda wheel for my girlfriend's car. She already has the '84 World Championship decal on the quarter window!

I am working on a reproduction moretti push button bit it's a pain in the *ss to get the perfect 3d look.

Can anyone chime in about the difference in the 2 signatures and how to possibly tell a real deal from a fake? Also if someone has a picture of the back of an original horn button too that would be helpful.
