Suggestions for packing/shipping wheels and tires safely

wanted to get some feedback on some packing techniques for wheels/tires, since i had a couple negative experiences in the past with damage in shipping...

should i ship them each individually, or should i double up? what is a good way to wrap/protect? should i keep the tires fully inflated? i need to fedex a set of wheels to puerto rico safely. thanks in advance-

Computer monitor boxes work well and can fit two rims. If you have a place that sells wheels and rims (NTB), you could stop by and bum a few boxes from them. Use plenty of bubble wrap under, on top, inbetween, and around the sides.

fed ex will ship wheels and tires unwrapped, not sure about puerto rico though. last set of wheels i got came doubled up outside facing each other wrapped in plastic no problems. how about putting two facing each other strapped together with plastic strapping.

last set of wheels i shipped were in tight fitting cardboard boxes. well packed with newspapers wheels wrapped in old t-shirts, buyer said they arrived in perfect condition.

BF Goodrich used to ship tires unwrapped, with just a labels on them. I was shocked to find $1000 worth of tires stacked outside my house one day.

I've sent a few sets UPS, round cardboard taped to the sides, fully inflated tires.
