Swb front torsion adjusting screws

Are they right or left handed threads? Where do they exactly thread through or into? Trying to see where I need to concentrate the heat to break them loose. I’m hoping I don’t have to drill them out but the screws do feel as if they’re a soft material. I have new ones on order to replace the old ones when I get them out.

Before you do something you will regret, take it to a mechanic or a handy neighbor.

That is me. That’s why I’m asking this degree of question. It’s not everyone’s first rodeo.....

it is right hand thread..but , ..what i do not get is ..you do not see where it goes into? It goes into the end cap .Use 11mm socket and turn. There is a blue loctite on it but no worries it will loosen unless you live in some very hostile territories.??Why do you need to replace it is the 100k bucks question?

this is the cup...

I need to replace them bc one of the heads has been snapped off and the other isn’t an original bolt. I am trying to understand then how it adjust? If it just goes into that arm than how does
It rotate the torsion bars to raise and lower it.

Thanks for the response.

The end of the screw pushes against the crossmember and it twists the torsion bar to adjust the height. Screwing it in raises the ride height, backing it out lowers it. The torsion bar is inside control arm (cylindrical tube). I assume you are trying to remove the screws with the car jacked up, if not you should, it will unload the screw. I assume you have sprayed penetrant on it and let it soak in too. I've seen the ends of the screws get mangled, but I've never broken one.

Ya I’ve been soaking it for days. I was following the 101 projects guide. It didn’t mention to have the car lifted but said to keep it on level ground. Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it while in the air. I don’t know how the bolt snapped. It was that way when I got the car.
