SC Battery Cable Routing
Long story short...I years ago relocated the battery to the smugglers box. I am putting the evaporator back in, and moved the battery back to it's original location. I had temporarily spliced in the battery in the smugglers box, but now, it needs to get rerouted, else the evap won't fit. I don't remember how it was.
So, can anyone tell me how the routing was from the factory? My cable is pulled back into the tunnel at the moment, so I would have room for the evaporator. TIA Pat

Finally got a chance to dig into the wife's 82 SC. Having difficulty transferring photos, so text will hopefully do.
The battery is tucked into the battery box at the front-left of the car, in front of the fuse panel. The ground is pretty straightforward, it goes toward the front of the car and mounts to the chassis somewhere obscured by the spare tire. The positive terminal is closer to the rear of the car. There are several cables that attach to it; the smaller ones run along the side of the fuel tank, tucked under the filler pipe, and splits to run up to the fuse panel and also down through a grommet into the driver's footwell. The large cable on her car drops down along the side of the fuel tank and disappears from view. I believe that it does come back up and goes through the same grommet into the driver's footwell. From there, I assume it makes its way into the center tunnel to get back to the starter and the alternator. --DD
