New Monty M42 1 in 2 out exhaust? Another 3.2 exhaust question

Anyone tried the new 84-89 Monty M42 exhaust?

Hope to have a 84 euro 911 coming in and planned to use SSIs and an M&K 2 in 2 out sport exhaust. Due to all the mods to install the SSI I am considering going another route. Id like to keep my stock heat exchangers and have a dual outlet exhaust exiting under the bumperettes (911R style). But every exhaust I find is a 2 in 2 out. And in order to keep my heat exchangers I need a 1 in 2 out exhaust with the exhaust pipes exiting where I want them to.

Other than custom building an exhaust I haven’t been able to find an option until I just ran across the new Monty M42 exhaust which appears to be what I’m after.

Any suggestions, reviews, etc appreciated!

I thought M&K made a 1-in 2-out in various tailpipe configs. Have you called them?

They do but not with the two exit pipes exiting at the rear bunperettes. Unfortunately

Call them. They do stuff that they don't list on their website. Or they used to, anyway.

I purchased and installed a Monty 1 in 1 out about 7 years ago. (87 Carrera)
It is a great product, extremely well made and provides a free flow extra ponies and great sound (no drone...)
It is not cheap and you pay trasport from Australia...but worth every penny you pay for it.

I have been in contact with M&K and they do not offer custom work from my understanding. The new monty looks about right but they don't have any pictures of the exhaust installed on a 911. so hard to tell if its what I want or would like.

We do a lot of custom work, can put tailpipes just about anywhere you want them. Problem with the muffler in question is the R tailpipe spacing (31" on center) is not fully compatible with a single inlet. The tailpipes on the driver's side would be left of the inlet which allows very little room for adjustment. The longer muffler body exaggerates the issue. If the angle of the catalytic converter flange is not perfect the muffler tailpipes would not be symmetrical. Best way in this case is to mount the muffler body in the car then fit the tailpipes. Down side is the muffler would be specific for this exact setup and may not properly fit another car.

Ah gotcha. Thanks! The more and more I learn I realize that I’m likely gonna have to install the SSIs to keep heat and get the look I am after.
