Angry Woowhoo: RIP

Left work today, driving down a busy 3 lane street doing about 45mph. Lady in Buick boat turns left in front of me... didn't even have time to put my brakes on. Head on into her side. I'm fine, my bell was rung pretty good, but my beauty is totalled... the tub damage goes all the way back to the engine compartment. Doors won't open, seats are at angles, etc.

Will post pics later this weekend. Guess the hunt for the 993 Cab is on!

Holy crap! Glad you're OK.

Although it could be worse - a friend's friend had the same thing happen last weekend. Except he was on a Harley. He's dead now. -- Curt

Too funny! We have one of those drive-in mausoleums here in the East Bay.

Dood, bummer about your car, but glad you are ok. Just got my car back a few weeks ago after I got hit.

You know, you *could* buy a heck of a diamond ring for the cost of the 993

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

Sam, 400 Miles.. ya I can do that in about 4-1/2 hours give ot take a few for pee breaks.. do you ever get up here to the Bay Area?
I use to go down to Pomona every month many years ago back, with a truck load of parts back when it was worth it. Seems like Pomona has lost its P touch a few years back. Now I only do local meets.

I'm relieved to hear that you're ok, Richard.

I know I'd be pissed (BIG-time). What is it with morons just not thinking while they drive? She should be charged...

Motion - glad to hear you are ok. Good luck with all the insurance headaches and stuff. My wife was in an accident 11/29/2001 - she was 0% at fault and we are still battling with the other insurance company. She walked away stiff and sore and still has some issues with her back, hip and ankle - but she is asleep right now in the next room - that's all that matters.

Sam - keep 'em coming!

Yeah, I know where Pomona is, driving through there one time I was the lucky recpient of a speeding ticket and a point on my insurance - haven't been back that way since.

Jeez, this board has been suffering a set of biblical plagues, lately. Collisions, crashes, fires...

Glad you're okay, Motion. As long as the woman was insured, you should get yourself a pretty good-sized piece of a 993.

Richard, Jeezus, it's an epidemic. Very glad to hear that you are (mostly) alright, that could have been worse. At least in your neck of the woods most are insured, so it's new car time. I am going to try to call you tomorrow, take care buddy.

Glad your Ok Motion. Sounds like the Cab took it on the chin for you.

In re: Pomona. I always seem to notice freshly painted old cars broken down on the side of the road on the way home after the swapmeet, but they couldn't be from the swapmeet could they? Nahhh!
