Breman SQR 46 Mic location

Considering buying a Blaupunkt Breman SQR 46 DAB. Just wondering where the best place is to locate the microphone and where to run the wire out of sight. If you have this radio, I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I put my mic on the top of the steering column box. Being a cabriolet, with the top down most of the time, there have been complaints of wind noise but nothing to the point I couldnt be heard. Ive seen others mount it to a plate in the ashtray and just drop the ashtray when the needed to make a call.

I just pulled mine into the ashtray and leave it loose in the ashtray. Be sure to run a cable that will interface with your phone out of the rear USB port -- allows one to both charge their phone AND send music directly from phone to radio via USB (bypassing bluetooth) when plugged in

I did not plug mine in. I figure as noisy as a 911 is, a phone call would sound horrible. I never talk on the phone as I drive anyway. Leave me a message, and I will call you back.

Hang up the phone and DRIVE!
Just my opinion.

Not sure how long the cord is. I looped mine over the sun visor bracket and ran the cord down along the window trim around the door, then back across the dashboard- no fasteners used at all and it hasn’t moved. The mic is very close to your head at that point- I’ve spoken to people on the move and they could hear me clearly.

The unit’s built-in mic has served me well w/o any complaints. I bagged the optional mic.
