2011-2013 E350 Mercedes

Looking to get my 19 year old daughter a car. What is up with the 2011-2013 MB E350? These vehicles seem to be awfully cheap for what was probably a $60K plus car just a few years ago.

I have seen a half dozen or so at around $15K, under 70K miles. Is there some astronomical service due, an issue with these cars? Mustang convertibles and Wranglers of the same age and mileage are bring the same money or more.

Mercedes depreciate rapidly from new. Those are the w212 e class that you are looking at. 2010- 2016. you'll be getting a lot of car for the money, as i think you're already noticing.

However, these cars use fiber optics and can bus systems and basically they are very modern and difficult for shade tree mechanics to work on. Get to know a garage that seems to have lots of late model MB on their lot and you should be good. You might stay away from any that have airmatic suspension too. I think that was an option on the w212.

(I've got a w211 2005 E500 wagon that is a real joy to drive. Only had it about a year and have had one issue ($500 shift module that I replaced myself as it didnt' need to be coded or anything).

No one wants them. They come off lease.. then the next guy tires after 3-4 years.. now you have your 2 owner 8-10 year old sedan. No on wants sedans and the internet convinces us that owning any German luxury car out of warranty is a crap shoot at best. Might want to check places like Benzworld.org for detailed info... Electrics are what I hear are most common ailments. Do your research.
