H1/4 Headlight pop out of Bucket

I have both H4 lights popping out of the bucket, actually both rubber seals started to work loose and both H4s are popping loose.
I was thinking to use a alloy bracket to hold the tops in, but that requires drilling a small hole in the fender.
Does anyone know a better way?
The small tab in the headlight bucket doesn’t seem to be enough there for the light ring to stay in place
I am stuck.

Bad Design by P AG.

besides the zip tie to save it, buy a new gasket, dig up the old thread showing exactly how to install it and be careful doing it

I used a rivet on both sides. Take your time.

Was shown by one of the big air cooled Porsche shops that the problem isn't at the top. The problem is at the bottom.

The tab that the single screw goes in at the bottom gets bent and that changes the preload at the top. Quick bend of the tab and the headlight stays in place.

That makes allot of sense. Wonder if my bottom screw tab is bent correctly.

If I use a long flat bladed screwdriver to tighten the headlight, the shaft of the screwdriver just barely clears the front bumper. If the tab was bent more forward, it would be very difficult to tighten the screw.

I wonder if those with the headlight falling out problem have the bottom tab bent more rearward giving them lots of room for the screwdriver tightening the bottom screw?

I have the headlight falling out problem; resolved with duct tape. I'm fine with this quasi-effective solution since it took <5 minutes and it works, but its not right. Thanks for this thread and comments about the tab. Will try it ASAP.

I've found that after market seals are to big and can cause problems in mounting the H4 buckets to the fender. Factory seals fit better.
