If you live at altitude is there a timing adjustment that would help?
I have a 72 2.4T.
I have heard that at altitude, folks prefer to set ignition timing at Top Dead Center versus 5 degrees before. Any thoughts? I live at about 4000 feet. Thanks, ian |
Very highly recommended that you do. That T motor in your car is only 7.5/1 compression ratio. At altitude, it gets even worse. About the only thing you can do is advance the timing to help compensate.
I sure hope you're not wasting your money on Premium! |
I live at 5000 ft (must be a honoury member of the 'Mile-High' club), I do know timing is adjusted for altitude, but can't remember which way it goes.
