Worst job I have ever done on a 911, I don’t have any tips sorry as I am sure there are better ways to do it than I did (took forever), just a message of support, I feel your pain.

Cheers,
Harry.

Hot bath, climb in with your window, keep the rubber hot and soft, soap for lube, and a plastic window stick to work the lip in 1/8" at a time.

Assume we are talking about 73 and earlier vent windows?

I tried 3 different brands of rubber for this and gave up on this job although it's looming in the near future as something that will need to get done.

My memory is a bit faint on it, I remember it being nearly impossible and when the rubber was stuck in the frame all around I still couldn't get it to stay in at the straight side. Very frustrating.

What brand of rubber seals are you guys using? I see Dansk is making them now so I think I'll try a pair of those next.

Did this last year on my 2002. Same type of rear window. John Walker is correct. The plastic 'window stick' is a must, but so is Dawn Liquid as your lube.

Thank goodness a (younger) friend of mine came over to help. It's murder on your (my old) hands and fingers and having 2 people helped. It takes considerable strength to push it into place.

I'd place reinstalling the windshield(s) as a worse job.
