Source for DOM tubing in the northeast
Been looking for some 1 3/4 Dom tubing locally and have been striking out. All our so called metal specialty supply houses do not carry Dom tubing and no one wants to bother ordering me 20 ft.
I've found some online however shipping anything over 8ft is not cost effective. Anyone know of a source in central NY area? Thanks |

You might call Deman Motorsport and ask where they get their tubing, they build cages in house. When I've bought DOM tube in the past I get a price break by purchasing full sticks (18-22 ft) so they don't have to cut, they deliver on a big flatbed truck.

There have to be some shops that do prep on the dirt-track/oval track cars? they should be able to hook you up..
We're lucky in that there are a few places on LI that sell DOM that are just a short drive away.. https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Automotive-Service/Oval-Speed-Unlimited-551295518278724/ Look for a place like I linked

Problem with online is the shipping cost for anything over 8ft. I'm thinking that after two 6.5 radius bends that 8ft is not enough for the main hoop.

You don't have a Ryerson near you? They've always been good to me, but each shop might have its own rules.

Thanks for the responses, nobody around CNY has any and nobody wants to bother with such a small order. I have a few more places to try east of here. Good thing I bought a hydraulic tubing bender.

Another option:
https://www.metalsupermarkets.com/store-finder/ There is a store in Albany, and a few in NJ. They have been great any time I've dealt with them. I'm talking buying individual pieces of metal for projects. |

Guys thanks for all the suggestions I finally tracked some down at a place called Murphy and Nolan in Rochester, NY they're going to ship it down to Syracuse. 1 3/4 by .095 20 ft for just north of $100 not a great deal but Reasonable for the small amount and the fact I don't have an account.
