I'll second that, mb911! Perfect finish and very quick turnaround (under 2 weeks back in 2017!)

Nice to know of a good alternative as Weidman is booked out so far.

not bad. they removed paint on the edge where the center cap sits, correct.
though more crytical is to avoid paint where the lugs sit! due to torque force (spec 130 Nm) it will break up the paint and cracking may grow beyond this space and spoil the look/paintjob. when refinishing fuchs, always cover the lug space from paint.

What about the inside of the Fuch? Is that cleaned up and clean as a whistle as well?

Hi Jgurani, mb911 and Baz- The previous owner had polished the lips and the black painted areas were wearing very thin in spots. I opted for a full refresh from fuchsrestoration (option "B" on their web price list) full cleaning front and back, clear anodization and fresh black. It's been over 20K miles since- very pleased with the results!

If they clean up the nasty insides too, then I'm very impressed! Just getting them clean enough to read the part number seems to take quite a bit of elbow grease! ![]()

From the pictures , fuchsrestorations.com obviously does a nice job , but I would not call these wheels restored . Harvey is still the best if you want the wheels restored as original , proper satin finish on the spoke sides and side of the rim , and dipped for the paint if you choose this option .If you don't recognize or appreciate the differences then why wait ?

Lol well your probably right.. I could have went with the restored as original but didn't want to spend that much on 15x7 and 15x8 as still thinking some day an rsr finish on 16 inch wheels.. My point is they did a great job for what I wanted this go around.. And yes they do the entire wheel not just the face.. My total bill was less then 1k and took 3 weeks..
Original finish was another 400 ish and rsr was a bit more then that..

Ed is a great guy and easy to work with. He is a true Porsche nut and has a neat shop tucked away, up in the back country.
He has a couple rad hot rod Porsches too. I've had him do quite a few wheels for me, great turn around time and quality.

OK this is a valid approach for one's own car.
The question I have in my mind is - if one has a set of Fuchs they want to sell - will this treatment assist in the sale both in profit and also marketability? Guess it depends on condition of the Fuchs and what type they are. In my case I have a set of 944 turbo Fuchs - the ones with the extra room inside for larger brake calipers. They are 16 by 7 and 8. They are in decent condition but nothing like what is represented above. This is what they look like. Good enough to sell now or get them restored? 8" 7" Representative of each pair and tires have since been removed. Thoughts?

If selling I would not do anything.. Let the new owner decide for themselves..

I agree with Ben. The buyer may not want factory look but instead polished petals and rims.

Ben is correct. If you made more money having the wheels, engine, car restored, everyone would do it first.
