Roll bar/cage certification. Is it required?
If I have a roll bar or cage manufactured locally, do I need it to be certified in anyway to be legal for PCA (or SCCA for that matter) events? It will be constructed according to the rules but on all of the off-the-shelf bars and cages that I have seen there is a blue "certification" decal. Does my locally made bar/cage need one of those?

Even pre-manufactured roll bars are measured at the race scrutineering. A hole is drilled in the tubing, so wall thickness and diameter can be measured. If your roll bar meets spec, it should be fine.

A small detail, but an inspection hole needs to be drilled in all of the major tubes to allow them to be inspected.
Paragraph 18.1.6C says... Quote:
