Pic Request: Narrow trailing arms with dust shield tabs cut off for 930 calipers

Hi guys looking for details for my machine shop guy on how to mod my 77 n/b trailing arms to fit 930 calipers. I've scoured the forums and I find a lot of 930 caliper threads but I don't see the trailing arm mods shown.

I think I understand the mod to cut the ears off 930 calipers and move to 3" spacing holes, but I can't seem to find pics of the narrow body trailing arm mod where you cut off the tabs for the rain shields.

Any detailed pics of this area would be greatly appreciated.

Can you mod the trailing arm only to accommodate 930 calipers? -Edit, I mean keeping the 930 caliper 'stock' can you do all the mods on the trailing arm - the answer is 'yes' - you need to weld new tabs on to accommodate 3.5" spacing of the 930 rear caliper

So...no one runs rain/dust shields on 930 modded n/b trailing arms?

Thanks!

You cut the ears off at the base where the step edge attaches them to the trailing arm.

No, I don't run dust shields front or rear.

Thanks Jamie!

That helps a lot. If anyone happens to have a picture of the bare trailing arm post cut/mod that would fantastic.

just did this...

best pic I could find. surprised I did not take a pic before mounting the caliper.

I can pull the caliper off and take pics if needed.

after cutting off the tabs the clearance to bolt the calipers on is very tight.

Excellent thank you. I'm sure it would help quite a few to post the pic without the caliper if possible.

Did Steve W. do the mod to the caliper?
