Turbo heat shield questions

The previous owner of my 79 930 had problems cooking the paint off the C-2 rear bumper. I've wrapped the exhaust (but not the turbo with thermo-tec header wrap and put aluminumized heat barrier on the inside of the bumper. Does anyone else have this problem and have a known solution?

Also, one thing I could not get from the previous owner is what model turbo is on the car. Can anyone tell from the pictures or would I need part numbers or dimensions?

Usually, there is a part number stamped (or cast) on the housing. List all of the numbers, and somebody should be able to help.
