Request for best sparkly White, paint code and photos?

After the deer incident this past November, I am ending up with a full repaint on my currently Grand Prix White 84 911. My Wife has suggested that we go back with a Pear white instead of the, as she calls it "boring plane white". This will never be a concourse car so i'm not terribly worried about the effect on resale. She had mentioned doing a full color change away from white, but I thought that entailed a bit more than I wanted to commit to as that would drive engine removal... to do it right. We've decided to investigate staying with a white, but one that adds a bit of shine/sparkle, if we can find a good option.

The cars is a base 3.2 Carrera in Grand Prix White with Cadbury Brown interior. I've already deviated from the factory as delivered interior when I had the seats and door panels redone, by adding Pasha insert, so a I'm not afraid of departing from the factory spec sheet.

That exterior/interior color combination is awesome, especially the Pasha interior. I vote a repaint in original Grand Prix White, if you can swing it.

My former '84 was Chiffon White with the brown interior. That color combo was widely admired by virtually everyone who saw it.

Chiffon is not a metallic, but is creamier than GP white. Similar to Olde English White on old MGs. So I think with the brown interior, I'd look into a mild pearl with a bit of a gold tint. Perhaps the White Diamond Metallic from '97 Cadillac deVille, or something similar.

I do like the Chiffon white over brown. If I could find that color in a pearl that would probably be ideal.

I did find a color code of L947 for Perlmuttweiss mica, which hopefully will be a good option. I gave the painter that code and he is going to try to pix a sample to see what it looks like in person, since it appears quite differently in the few pics I've found online.

Since white balance can have a huge effect on images, I tried to find a picture of a Grand Prix white car next to one in L947, put was unable to. So I'll have to wait forthe painter to creat my sample.

My car is Grand Prix White, with a burgundy interior. I will admit to a very slight prejudice, but I think it is perfect.






I will have to remember to get some of the interior next time I have it out. I only have a few hundred pictures of my 911, but I will stop at three.

Glen, Great looking car. My previous 928 was silver with burgundy interior. I know some people aren't a fan, but I personally like it. And your white over burgundy is a great combo too.

I didn't much care for Chiffon at first, especially since a prior owner had re-done the seats in ivory. It was much nicer after I changed the interior back to the original brown.

White looks GREAT on a 911 - haha, just ask Glen.

A couple of ideas... Metalic white. and Pearlescent white. Pearlescent means small particals of ceramic that really make the paint glow. Adds a special something to it.

Worth you looking into.

I’m not a big fan of white but once saw a white 911 (maybe an SC) for sale online (perhaps here) that I could not stop looking at. I believe the color was moon pearl. It definitely had “moon” in the name and was very intriguing.

Well Porsche do have a carrera White Metallic that is a newer color....

Damn love that interior!
