turbo oil lines

83 turbo motor in an 84 Carrera body. oil line from thermostat to cross over #930 107 743 15 is too short, and meets the crossover connection at the wrong angle. # 930 107 743 10 is too long, but at the correct angle. Help! and thanks

Take them to a hydraulic hose shop and have them modify to fit. It will cost about $20.

I went to an Aeroquip dealer and they could not find the 30mm by 1.5 threaded fittings. Maybe they could use my fittings and make just a new hose? Thanks

why do you suppose the factory lines do not fit? The turbo engine lines in the Carrera body should still have the same shape as in the turbo body. The inner Chassis is the same I think? Thanks

Are you using turbo oil lines or the lines that were on the 84 Carrera?
Without seeing pics of what you have going on.. it sounds like you may have the wrong lines as 930 107 743 10 fits 86 -89 Turbo.
What exhaust is on the engine, this would also make a difference.

it is a turbo line connected to the factory turbo crossover, and it is too long. The exhaust does not interfere. #930 107 743 10 is also for earlier turbos I think. Pelican does not list a turbo for 83 because it was not offered by the factory. Only in Canada perhaps. My 83 turbo engine should be configured like an 86 for the lines? What other part numbers are there? Carrera body should be the same as the turbo body under the skin. Thanks very much for giving this some thought.

the crossover part # that is on the car is #930 107 741 11, so that should connect to #930 107 743 10. With the proper tool I could bend the rigid pipe to make it fit, as it is only 2 inches too long, at the rubber end. Maybe?

here is the issue: The new line in the photo is #930 107 743 15. The old line was just like the new one, but the previous owner bent an stretched it to make it fit , so it eventually failed.

did not realize what had happened until too late. I just ordered what was already on the car. The turbo line I borrowed to try, was too longhand too low, but the angle was correct. Maybe the turbo line I tried was from the wrong year? Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

Take the hose in your picture to a hose shop and have your fittings pressed into a new hose that is a couple inches longer.

....or take the hose that is too long and have it cut down.

thanks, why do you suppose both hoses are not correct? I did go to an Aeroquip shop, but they were not interested in such a small project. Another place said they could not do it. I guess I need to find the right shop. I wanted an all Aeroquip line, but thy did not have the correct fittings: 30mm by 1.5.Thanks for you reply. Still wonder why the fit issue

what a small world. Is 4 Sunny Acres where the big green house is now? They are tearing all the houses down, and building 6 thousand sq, footers. Big lots. Seattle is a great place. We stay here for the health care. We are on Oakridge. Thanks for writing. Any thoughts on my oil lines?

i've had to bend up the end of the cross-over pipe to meet the side oil line at the proper angle. the gemo and cofap lines don't fit as well as the originals and the rubber hose is too soft and tends to kink. there are only two hoses, 930 107 743 12 for 84-89 and 911 107 743 10 for 75-83.

I just ordered 930 107 743 10 to try. My engine is an 83, but no turbo is listed by Pelican for 83. What is the difference between 930 107 743 10 and 911 107 743 10. I think 930 107 743 12 has been replaced by another #. How did you bend the line?

I checked and 930 107 743 12 is now 930 107 743 15, which is the one in my photo.

we moved here before it became ritzy. They were giving house away 18 years ago, just for the land. It will prove to be a good investment, if we ever sell.
