Engine Mount Crossmember

Hey all,
So i'm in the midst of a project on my 83 SC which started with rebuilding the shift coupler after the bushings disintegrated and quickly turned into a "while I was in there" project to tackle a bunch of other things i've been meaning to do including pedal cluster rebuild and changing engine and tranny mounts.
I'm currently trying to get the engine mount bolts out of the crossmember and of course they're stuck. Probably haven't been out in close to ten years. I've read all the threads about the different tricks to get them out and am currently soaking them in PB overnight and will try heat tomorrow if that doesn't work. My question is though, assuming I do get them out would you guys reuse this crossmember? It looks like a previous wrench re-welded the passenger side. Its ugly and it flexes when I try to get the bolts out, but it looks intact. If i can't get them out its a moot point anyway and will prob have to replace the crossmemeber.
Thanks,
Jordan

Trash. Buy a new one. I have a used one in the classifieds -unmolested. Just cut the tips of the bolts off and toss the mounts too. New OEM mounts are not expensive and a good improvement.

Thanks, think I may spring for the Rennline RSR style if I replace it. I'm leaning toward that anyway.

Hm, the weld is strong enough that it is not broken during your attempt to remove the bolt while the cross member actually bends a bit. If you are able to get the bolt out, I would reuse it. Who is going to see and know?

My trick is to cut down a piece of wood of perfect size and jam it between the engine and the cross member so that the cross member cannot flex anymore. Then use a large ash breaker bar with a 19mm socket and break loose the bolt. If it breaks off, OK, replace whatever is broken. The case will hold if the piece of wood is large enough to spread the load.

UPDATE
Well, I was able to crack the drivers side bolt loose, but I bent the crossmember and probably broke the weld on the passenger side while trying to get it out. So, after lunch going to head back out and cut the bolt off.
Looks like I'm in the market for a new crossmember. I see PP is having a 10% off Rennline sale this weekend so I may pick up one of their RSR style ones, unless anyone has one they'd like to get rid of?
As always, appreciate the info and advice on this board.
Cheers.
