Caliper lube

I'm looking for a FLAPS supplied caliper lube for use in rebuilding the caliper and to use as a pre-lube before installing the piston. This needs to be compatible with exposure to the brake fluid inside the caliper. Looking for what can be found local.

Here are 2 that I've found on the net, one Porsche supplied available here and a ATE brand from Europe.

Any ideas?

The rebuild kits from Brembo for late model calipers come with a packet of assembly lube. They ship a packet with every piston seal kit so you end up with way too much. I just rebuilt two Boxster calipers (8 pistons total) and only needed 1 packet, so it goes a long way. This is the stuff:

Looks like you can get a big tube for $12, that would probably last a lifetime.

Local auto parts stores will indeed have silicone paste for caliper guide pins. This paste can also be used for assembling pressure seals for the pistons. Look for Sil Glyde or Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lubricant (green semi-transparent paste).

The Brembo stuff Cory linked at Alconkits is reminds me of the stuff that used to be provided by Brembo in their Porsche caliper piston rebuild kits many years ago. It was Kluber grease.

Many people will say just use brake fluid to lubricate the seals. That is of course acceptable since brake fluid is what obviously goes inside the calipers. But I suggest using the silicone paste for best ease of assembly. The paste lets the piston slide along the rubber seal much easier than the brake fluid does. Plus the paste protects against long term degradation of the seals.

ATE Brake Cylinder Assembly Paste 180g Tube is the correct stuff.
Most of the other stuff is for EXTERNAL use only, and not compatible with brake fluid!
I have used the ATE paste for 40 years, and it works.
