MS3 pro install
I have the MS3 and I believe I can mount it under the drivers seat.
I already have a hole in the rear floor behind the drivers seat that vacuum hose run through for my variable boost control so there is not much more room there for wiring. I am curious how others are mounting and running the wiring back to the engine bay. are you installing a bulk head connector and where are you running one continuous run of wire to the engine and just using individual connectors for connections so you can remove the engine. if I do this then once the wire harness is installed it wont be coming out since I doubt all the connectors will fit through the floor board "fire wall". I am not certain I have wires long enough for one run anyway. what about rubber seals for the firewall if I ran the wiring through and no connector. I am waiting on piston squirters so I am messing with the EFI stuff now. going slow.

Which car is this for? Any ECU that has top mount connectors can have clearance problems for the wiring harness. There is also risk of wire stress with a tight 90 bend. Its a pet peeve with almost all modern ECUs.
Just make sure you have plenty of clearance and your wires are secured so they can not catch on the seat when it moves F/R. I assume you are making your own harness. In this case, drill a hole and run harness through with a bulkhead seal. Then pull harness into engine bay. You will need to separate the harness into 3 segments. Wires that stay inside passenger compartment (power, relay, ground, etc); wires that are engine bay but do not go to engine (WBO2, relays, MAP sensor, fuel pump control, ignition output, etc); and wires that go to engine (injectors, temp sensors, ignition pickup, [ignition triggers?], etc). I run all the engine mount wires through a disconnect plug mounted next to the rear shock/cylinder #3 area. These run along the shock tower and then feed forward at appropriate locations. You need to count the circuit pin requirements to size your connector. I typically use Deutsche Connectors. They are way more compact that weatherpack, hold plenty of current and are easy to assemble.

looks like I have room under the seat but removing the connectors may be a pain. wire harness came with the unit. 2 harnesses so far I have 17 wires on one bundle and 13 on the other that go to the engine bay. where did you get the bulkhead seal .

IMO, The MSPro has a ton of I/O pins you will not use. I would depin the connector and remove all unwanted wires. Then combine the two harness segments as described below. You will have to pull fewer wires and the bundle will be smaller.
Mcmaster Carr has a ton of bulkhead connectors. There are lots of options available if you just do a web search.

My car has been on the body shop for over a year now and I should have it back in a week or two. I want to get this installed while the paint cures before putting on the PPF.
I am not sure where I want to mount the unit. The firewall behind the motor is looking like the best place. I may look again at mounting it above the relay panel where my MSD unit is but I don’t think it will fit. Any ideas and pics. I need to get the wiring to the lower ignition coils. What’s the best route to get below the sheet metal. What ever i do i have to be able to pull the wires and connectors back out so the hole would have to fairly big. I still need a MAP sensor and a TPS. I have not seen the car in a year but just trying to work out a rough wiring layout with out having it in front of me. Planning on adding two more replays. One for the coils and one for the injectors. Just doing the ignition first. I want to keep engine removal simple as far as wiring goes. ![]()

The ECU should not be in the engine bay. The most common location is under the passenger seat where it’s shielded from the heat and contaminants of the engine bay.
