Question Long WB vs. Short WB: A Few Questions

I was wondering how the wheelbase has changed on the 911, but only through the mid 80's. What is the measurement for each?

Also, what is the difference between SWB and LWB cars (besides the distance between the wheels)? Where did they add/subtract the length?

What parts interchange between them, body and suspension/brakes?

Finally, what are the pros/cons of either style?

Thanks for the help,

Pete

the wheel base changed in 68 I believe, and stayed the same all the way through the 80's.

I believe the pro's/con's are that because the SWB is shorter it is more prone to rotating, so most say the LWB was more stable.

I believe the primary difference is in the location of the rear wheel cutout and the rear suspension is longer.

I'm sure you'll get more in depth info here pretty quick.
