Porsche genuine vs Griffiths?

I have a small but very annoying leak in my A/C line from the compressor to the condenser. My choices for a new line are Porsche genuine for $429 or a Griffiths for $160. Looking for advice from those who know. That’s an enormous discrepancy, Thank you.

Griffith's products are usually improved from the factory unit. He makes only top level stuff. If your rubber hoses are the original, they may well be the point of an additional slow leak.

I did my Griffith's upgrade 11 years ago, and have driven over 52,000 miles since then with no issues.

Thank you gentlemen. My slow leak was caused by the hose rubbing against the rim of the trunk. Additionally, when I pulled up the part # of the hose in my car, I got a warning that it may not fit my car? The part # for the hose I need ends in 05 but the one currently installed ends in 03. I don’t know what the difference is but I’d like to replace it with the most correct part. Again, thank you all. I can’t begin to tell you how invaluable this forum is to me.

Hi Reno775- I can't say enough about Griffith's quality and customer service. I did receive my compressor to condenser line late this Summer and I will install once Spring arrives (June? July?) Please note the hardware and instructions, plus it's a 5 layer barrier line vs. the factory non-barrier. Like everything Griffith sells, it's a quality piece of equipment. I also used Griffith for Petra's fuel lines and my refresh in 2016. See my summary...

One look at those instructions and I can see the cause of my issue. The clamp on my hose at lid hinge is incorrect. The clamp on my hose holds the line up higher than the one in your pic. The center of my hose is even with the clamp bolt hole and subsequently, the hose comes in direct contact with the inner rim of trunk lid and it scrapes every time the lid is open and closed. The oil then leaks from just below the clamp area, runs down the hose to its low point, drips onto sheet metal and finally drips onto exhaust.
