Help on dashboard fuse rating
I have bought the fuseholder to put on the line that feeds all the lighting of the dashboard (speedo, clock, etc...). I know there is a how-to somewhere, but I can't find it.
What I need to know is what fuse to use?? 3A? 5A? Thanks fo help! GeorgeK |

GeorgeK:
I've found conflicting reports as to which termninal I hang the 3A fuse on...is it 58L, or somethiing like that? I'm thinking you have a mid-80's 3.2 L Carrera as I do. Doing this, however, doesn't protect the lighting within the fresh air blower area...which also needs fused protection and apparantly gets its power from multiple sources. So just how *do* we fuse this area completely? ---Wil Ferch

Wil,
I have not gone under the dash so far, but I don't worry about that. You're right that the heater controls are lighted from some other source, however I wonder if they are tributaries of the lights being on (?). If yes, it is back to which wire from the light switch; I'll have to look in the wiring schemes for this. BTW the cars are '76 and '83. Is 3A the last word? GeorgeK |
