who can do headl9iners in 911's in the greater Atlanta, Ga area?
I am looking for a shop, individual, family or whomever in the greater Atlanta area who can remove and replace a headliner in a longhood. This is a project I would be reluctant to tackle on my own given that many say the windows have to be removed and it requires patience and experience to make it right. It would be nice to find that little shop that is affordable and does fantastic work. Anyone?
Thanks Bob 1973.5T |

Ray Morgan at VMR. He moved his shop to Jasper though.

To do it right, the windshield, rear window and quarter windows need to be removed, as well as the door weatherstrip, rear quarter garnish rail and rear parcel panel. In my experience, interior shops don't do glass work, so you may have to deal with a mobile glass shop for that part.
I'm about 2/3 way through installing the headliner in my '72 after glass-out re-paint. It is fussy work, but not all that difficult.

I would think a shop would want around 30-40 or so hours to do this job. It's a lot of work and it's not easy. As much as it is science. You definitely want someone who has done a few of these to do the job. Plan on replacing most, if not all of the window seals, and very possibly most or all of the vinyl on the pillars.
