Nashville Tornado Damage

So my 1981 Targa was parked in a hangar at Tune Airport for the winter. The airport took a direct hit from this week’s tornado.

We still don’t have access to the airport but I got pictures today.

I’ll upload pictures in a minute.

I’ve contacted insurance but no one will be able to look for a while.

Anything I should be doing now?

So sorry for the horrible situation. Hopefully no lives lost.
That’s a beautiful color.
Insurance will try and total it and lowball you on the amount.
Insist that you want the car fixed just like it was before, that’s why you have insurance.
Start researching reputable body shops that have experience with Porsche’s.
Best of luck.

Hope no one's injured but the car doesn't look too bad.

Have it towed to your garage to prevent further damage if you can get safe access.

Thanks. No safe access to the airport soon but I’d love to get it out of there.

Yeah, sorry to hear that, sounds like the car's gonna sustain water damage. Get a tarp or two over it ?

At least it looks better than the scooter. Good luck with the repair. Let us know when it's back.

Sorry for the loss.
Maybe you can pay the guy who sent photos to put a tarp over it ?

Sorry to see that - and hope no one was injured as others have said. Get a tarp or other water resistant cover over it ASAP until you can move it. I'd also plan on a dehumidifier being used in a closed space as soon as you can get it somewhere contained. The sooner the better of course.

Did the car flip? Looks like it took a ride on it’s lid?!

I doubt it. Probably just battered around by pieces of the hanger. Sucks either way.

Saw it today and took these pics. Insurance adjuster is looking tomorrow.

Targa bar is toast. Engine lid isn’t a so good. Engine and transmission look fine but car is on three wheels.

Damage to the rest of the airport is insane.

Man that's terrible. The damage that was done is unbelievable. I've been watching all the stories on the news and it's wrenching to see all the destruction and harm that was done to those living in the path.

The adjuster totaled it today. Let’s see what the economics wind up being.

Offer was surprisingly fair.

They offered to let me keep it for $5400!

Total settlement

What numbers did they use to calculate settlement check and value of you keeping the car? Also stipulate a clean title.
